KING COUNTY TREATMENT CHARGE
Be prepared to pay an additional $4.20 a month for sewer treatment this year.
The King County Council voted on Monday June 14, 2010 to raise its wholesale rate for sewage treatment from $31.90 per household per month to $36.10 on Jan. 1, 2011. The rate will remain in effect for two years.
The monthly capacity charge to homes newly connected to the system will rise from $49.07 to $50.45 this year.
Rates are rising rapidly to pay for capital improvements including the $1.8 billion Brightwater sewage treatment plant.
